WWE at Boise State University Pavilion (10/4/02)

Boise State Pavilion
Boise, Idaho
October 4, 2002

The stars of Raw ended up in Boise, Idaho for tonight's house show at the Boise State University Pavilion. Raw was centered around Triple H and Ric Flair at this point with everyone else reduced to window dressing. The house matches would be somewhat tied in to last week's Raw with Kane and Hurricane defending the tag belts against 3 Minute Warning and Triple H putting the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Rob Van Dam in a rematch from Unforgiven. Let's get started.

Match 1

Spike Dudley vs Rico

We start with the bottom of the barrel so to speak with the manager of 3 Minute Warning against the runt of the Dudley litter. Rico wins it with a spin kick.

Winner: Rico by pinfall

Match 2

Justin Credible, Raven and Steven Richards vs Mark Jindrak, Johnny Stamboli and D-Lo Brown

This match had been going around the Raw house show circuit with the same result every night. D-Lo pins Raven with the Sky High.

Winners: Jindrak, Stamboli and D-Lo by pinfall

Match 3

Goldust vs Big Show

Remember that match in West Palm Beach where Big Show had 10 minutes to beat Tommy Dreamer or else he'd kiss Dreamer's ass? Well its the same scenario only with Goldust this time instead of Dreamer. Show pinned Goldust with just 4 seconds left to avoid kissing Dustin's dumper.

Time of match: 9:56

Winner: Big Show by pinfall

Match 4

3 Minute Warning (Rosey and Jamal) with Rico vs Kane and The Hurricane for the World Tag Team Championship

With Smackdown about to incorporate the new WWE Tag Team Championship, Raw's tag belts are now the World Tag Team Championship. Sound stupid? It is! Still. Rico accidentally kicked Rosey allowing Kane to pin Jamal after a chokeslam to retain.

Winners: Kane and Hurricane by pinfall (still World Tag Team Champions)

Match 5

Tommy Dreamer vs Test

Talk about a match with nothing in common. Still, Dreamer came off the top but right into Test's big boot. Test got the pin to win the match.

Winner: Test by pinfall

Match 6

William Regal and Lance Storm vs Bubba Ray Dudley and Jeff Hardy

After The Unamericans imploded on Monday it looked like Storm was going to stick with Regal with the other two going their separate ways. Christian did try to help out against the makeshift team but it backfired. Hardy pinned Storm with the Swanton. After the match, Lance hit the superkick on Christian and walked out with Regal.

Winners: Bubba and Jeff by pinfall

Match 7

Dawn Marie vs Torrie Wilson in a Bra & Panties Match

No idea why these two would be on a Raw show but here we are. Guess Trish Stratus and Victoria had the night off. Torrie gets the duke.

Winner: Torrie Wilson

Match 8

Rob Van Dam vs Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship

The rematch from Unforgiven as Van Dam takes on The Game for the big one. HHH apparently hit Rob with a chair and hit the pedigree after to retain.

Winner: Triple H by pinfall (still World Heavyweight Champion)

Once again, its all about Triple H and everyone else is just background noise. Even though it was just a house show, once again no one looked competent enough to beat Hunter. Kane was scheduled to face him at No Mercy but he was booked in a tag team match. No one else had any sort of juice since Booker T and Rob Van Dam once again were booked to lose the big one. Still, the matches on this card looked solid so hopefully the Boise State crowd appreciated it. WWE has a double shot tomorrow with both brands doing their own house shows. Smackdown's crew would be in Kansas City, Missouri at the Municipal Auditorium. I'll see you there.
