WWE at Santander Arena (11/16/02)

Santander Arena
Reading, PA
November 16, 2002

We are one day away from Survivor Series but there's some unfinished business to get to first. The stars of Raw ventured to Reading, Pennsylvania for a Saturday house show. Its been established that Triple H was virtually unbeatable and nobody else but Shawn Michaels had a chance to beat him in the elimination chamber. Christian and Chris Jericho were still the World Tag Team Champions despite Jericho hitting him with a chair on Monday. Let's get to the action.

Match 1

Batista vs Steven Richards

Raw's newest star takes on poor Steven who was humiliated by Test this past Monday. Batista wins it with a spinebuster.

Winner: Batista by pinfall

Match 2

Victoria (with Molly Holly) vs Trish Stratus (with Jacqueline) for the WWE Women's Championship

Same match as the past week with the same results. Trish gets inside cradle, Molly pulls Victoria on top. Jackie rolls Trish on top for the 3 count to retain.

Winner: Trish by pinfall (still Women's champion)

Match 3

Al Snow vs Christopher Nowinsky

Mentor vs pupil again with the same result. Nowinsky gets the Flair Pin for the victory.

Winner: Nowinsky by pinfall

Match 4

Raven and Johnny Stamboli vs The Hurricane and D-Lo Brown

D-Lo and Raven's perpetual feud on Heat and house shows continues only they have partners this time. Hurricane pinned Stamboli after Eye of The Hurricane.

Winners: Hurricane and D-Lo by pinfall

Match 5

Kane vs William Regal

Talk about bottom of the barrel for Kane. Nothing against Regal but Kane went from Tag & IC Champ and legit threat to Triple H to a mid-card match with Regal. Kane takes it with the chokeslam.

Winner: Kane by pinfall

Match 6

Justin Credible vs Tommy Dreamer

The ECW guys go at it in this random match in Reading, Pennsylvania. Dreamer wins it with the Dreamer Driver.

Winner: Dreamer by pinfall

Match 7

Lance Storm vs Rob Van Dam

Just like Kane, Rob Van Dam goes from the main event of Unforgiven to a mid-card match with Lance Storm. Nothing against Lance, its just the state of Raw. Van Dam takes it with the five star frog splash.

Winner: RVD by pinfall

Match 8

The Dudley Boys (Spike and Bubba Ray) and Jeff Hardy vs 3 Minute Warning (Rosey and Jamal) and Rico

A preview of tomorrow night's tables match with all six men going at it here. Jamal pinned Bubba with the samoan drop to win the match.

Winners: Rosey, Jamal and Rico by pinfall

Match 9

Goldust and Booker T vs Christian and Chris Jericho for the World Tag Team Championship

Guess Christian forgives Jericho for hitting him with a chair because they team up to face Goldust and Booker. Jericho pinned Goldust after hitting him with a tag belt. The heels win to end the night.

Winners: Christian and Chris Jericho by pinfall (Still World Tag Team Champions)

Kind of a lame house show just one day before Survivor Series but that might be the point. No Triple H or Ric Flair...or Shawn Michaels for that matter. The problem with booking HHH over everyone is the rest of the roster is just filler. Still, the matches might have been interesting if you saw this live. On the exact same day of this show, the stars of Smackdown were in Baltimore, Maryland for their own Saturday house show. I'll see you there.

Sunday, November 10, 2002

WWE at Giant Center (11/10/02)

Giant Center
Hershey, PA
November 10, 2002

The stars of Raw continue their Pennsylvania tour here in Hershey. We got the same exact matches from Friday and Saturday so let's get to the action.

Match 1

Johnny Stamboli and Sean O'Haire vs 3 Minute Warning (Rosey & Jamal)

WCW vs the Samoans for the second day in a row. Also for the second day in a row, the Samoans win the match.

Winners: 3 Minute Warning

Match 2

Justin Credible vs Batista

You know the drill, Batista was the newest Raw prospect and Credible was wrestling out his contract. Batista takes it.

Winner: Batista

Match 3

Raven vs D-Lo Brown

Third day in a row for the Sunday Night Heat mainstays. Also third day in a row D-Lo wins.

Winner: D-Lo by pinfall

Match 4

Christopher Nowinski vs Al Snow

Snow won on Friday night, Chris won on Saturday night. Who takes the rubber match? Al Snow wins this one.

Winner: Al Snow

Match 5

Booker T and Bubba Ray Dudley vs Christian and Chris Jericho for the World Tag Team Championship

Same match from yesterday with the makeshift team of Booker and Bubba against the tag champs. Same result too, the champs retain.

Winners: Christian and Jericho (still World Tag Team Champions)

Match 6

Tommy Dreamer vs Steven Richards in a Singapore Cane Match

Once again the same match from the last two days with the same result. Dreamer wins it.

Winner: Dreamer

Match 7

Goldust and Spike Dudley vs William Regal and Lance Storm

Another makeshift team with Goldust and Spike taking on Regal and Storm just like yesterday. Same result, Regal and Storm win.

Winners: Regal and Storm

Match 8

Victoria (with Molly Holly) vs Trish Stratus (with Jacqueline) for the WWE Women's Championship

Same match from the last two days with the same result. Trish retains.

Winner: Trish (still Women's Champion)

Match 9

Kane vs Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship

Same match from the last few days with the exact same result. Kane goes insane and attacks the referees, security guard, peanut vendors, camera guys and methodists to earn the DQ.

Winner: HHH by disqualification (still World Heavyweight Champion)

Another standard house show just like the last few days. Maybe this coming Raw will provide new matches for next week's house show circuit. Still, we're one week out from Survivor Series so it'll be interesting how the final Raw will play out tomorrow night. The stars of Smackdown had their own Sunday house show in Peoria, Illinois going on around this time. I'll see you there.

Saturday, November 9, 2002

WWE at First Union Center (11/9/02)

First Union Center
Philadelphia, PA
November 9, 2002

The stars of Raw have invaded Philadelphia just 8 days out from Survivor Series. Victoria takes on Trish Stratus in a hardcore match and of course the elimination chamber are set, but other matches have yet to be announced. Hopefully that changes in the next few days. On with the show.

Match 1

Sean O'Haire and Johnny Stamboli vs 3 Minute Warning (Rosey & Jamal) with Rico

The ex-WCW guys take on the Samoans to open the show. Jamal pinned Stamboli after a kick from Rico and a Samoan drop.

Winners: Rosey and Jamal by pinfall

Match 2

Justin Credible vs Batista

Once again, Credible is wrestling out his contract so he gets fed to Batista here. Batista takes it with the sit-out powerbomb.

Winner: Batista by pinfall

Match 3

Al Snow vs Christopher Nowinski

Last night Al Snow beat his student with the snowplow. On this night, Nowinski gets the Flair Pin for the victory.

Winner: Nowinski by pinfall

Match 4

Raven vs D-Lo Brown

The Sunday Night Heat mainstays go at it once again with D-Lo getting the duke after the sky high.

Winner: D-Lo by pinfall

Match 5

Test vs Rob Van Dam

Days out from elimination chamber, Van Dam beats Test with the five star frog splash.

Winner: Rob Van Dam by pinfall

Match 6

Booker T and Bubba Ray Dudley vs Christian and Chris Jericho for the World Tag Team Championship

Kind of an odd pairing but you got two of the six men in the elimination chamber on opposite sides here. Jericho pinned Bubba after the lionsault to retain.

Winners: Christian and Jericho by pinfall (still World Tag Team Champions)

Match 7

Steven Richards vs Tommy Dreamer in a Singapore Cane Match

The ECW alumni put on an ECW style match beating the hell out of each other with the cane. Dreamer wins it.

Winner: Dreamer by pinfall

Match 8

Victoria (with Molly Holly) vs Trish Stratus (with Jacqueline) for the WWE Women's Championship

Just like yesterday, we got Trish and Victoria going at it with backup in their corners. The end came when Trish got an inside cradle on Victoria but Molly rolled Victoria on top. Jackie then ran in and reversed it to give Trish the victory.

Winner: Stratus by pinfall (still Women's Champion)

Match 9

Goldust and Spike Dudley vs Lance Storm and William Regal

Man the tag team division was a mess. A makeshift team of Goldust and Spike take on Lance and Regal. Wouldn't it make more sense to have Spike with Bubba against Christian/Jericho and have Booker here with Goldust? Oh well, props for at least doing something different. Regal pinned Spike to win it.

Winners: Regal and Storm by pinfall

Match 10

Kane vs Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship

Same as yesterday, HHH wins when Kane goes berserk, attacking anyone that moves including the popcorn vendor and the camera dude.

Winner: HHH by disqualification

We're sticking with this card for a while with Survivor Series looming. The state of Raw was in bad shape with no one over besides the returning Shawn Michaels and the ratings told the story. Its one thing to have a beast like Brock Lesnar as your dominating champion but having HHH be unstoppable was laughable. We got Velocity up next, so I'll see you there.

Friday, November 8, 2002

WWE at Bryce Jordan Center (11/8/02)

Bryce Jordan Center
State College, PA
November 8, 2002

The stars of Raw invade State College, Pennsylvania for a Friday night house show 9 days before Survivor Series. The house show circuit this weekend should stem from last week's Raw so let's see if there's anything new & exciting or the same old, same old.

Match 1

Rico vs Raven

Kind of an odd match to start the show since these two really have no beef, not to mention Raven hadn't been seen on Raw in a while. Raven still gets the win though.

Winner: Raven

Match 2

D-Lo Brown and Johnny Stamboli vs 3 Minute Warning (Rosey and Jamal)

Kind of a hodge podge with D-Lo and Stamboli taking on the Samoan hit squad. 3 Minute Warning win this one.

Winners: Rosey & Jamal

Match 3

Justin Credible vs Batista

Once again they're feeding Justin Credible to Batista just like this week's Raw. Only this time he's made his Raw debut so the fans should start getting into him down. Batista wins it with the sit-down powerbomb.

Winner: Batista by pinfall

Match 4

Christian vs Bubba Ray Dudley in a Tables Match

Two weeks ago Bubba Ray Dudley and Jeff Hardy had a hell of a tag match with Christian and Chris Jericho on Raw so here we have half of that match against each other in a Dudley special tables match. Bubba won it.

Winner: Bubba Ray Dudley

Match 5

Test vs Booker T

Another random match with Test not having beefed with Booker T since the dissolution of the Unamericans. Still, Booker wins it with the scissors kick.

Winner: Booker by pinfall

Match 6

Steven Richards vs Tommy Dreamer in a Singapore Cane Match

The ECW alumni go at it for old times sake in a half-ass weapons match. Dreamer got the win here.

Winner: Dreamer by pinfall

Match 7

Christopher Nowinski vs Al Snow

Teacher vs pupil as Tough Enough graduate Nowinski takes on Al Snow. Snow wins it with a snowplow.

Winner: Snow by pinfall

Match 8

Spike Dudley and Rob Van Dam vs William Regal and Lance Storm

ECW vs the old Unamericans....actually its 3/4 ECW with Storm there. RVD pinned Regal following the five star frog splash.

Winners: Van Dam & Dudley by pinfall

Match 9

Victoria (with Molly Holly) vs Trish Stratus (with Jacqueline) for the WWE Women's Championship

A Survivor Series preview with Stratus taking on the demented Victoria, only both women have backup. Trish takes it with Stratusfaction.

Winner: Trish by pinfall (still Women's Champion)

Match 10

Kane vs Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship

Now that Kane has lost the unification match, nobody cares about him anymore with Shawn Michaels returning to active duty. Triple H wins when Kane goes apeshit on the referee, other referees and security. That's one way to end the night.

Winner: HHH by disqualification

I'd say this show was more or less what we had been getting on the houses give or take a few changes. No Chris Jericho on this card, maybe he or Jeff Hardy was nursing an injury so a tag match was changed to a single between Bubba & Christian. Either way it might have been an entertaining card to see live. Shawn still wasn't wrestling on the houses yet so they were running with Kane vs HHH which was probably stale by this point. Tomorrow is a double shot as both Raw and Smackdown are running Saturday house shows. Smackdown would be in Champaign, Illinois at the Assembly Hall. I'll see you there.

Sunday, November 3, 2002

WWE at Moncton Coliseum (11/3/02)

Moncton Coliseum
New Brunswick, Canada
November 3, 2002

The Raw house show circuit made its way to Canada yesterday when they worked Halifax, Nova Scotia. Now the crew had to make their way to New Brunswick, Canada. If you ever wonder why so many stars died young or had to retire early, its work schedules like this that wore people down. Worse, they had to fly back to the States to be in Boston the next night for Raw. Ain't no rest for the wicked as they say. The house show circuit was pretty standard with the same matches being presented every night, just with a few changes here and there. Let's see if they stick with the theme of having the Canadians on last and or win.

Match 1

Tommy Dreamer and Johnny Stamboli vs 3 Minute Warning (Rosey and Jamal) with Rico

Same match as last night with the exact same result. The Samoans take it after Jamal hits Stamboli with the Samoan drop.

Winners: 3 Minute Warning by pinfall

Match 2

Justin Credible vs Batista.

Like I mentioned yesterday, Credible was wrestling out his contract and the company had BIG plans for Batista. Doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out who wins this one. Larry Holmes could have told you Batista was going to take it with the sit down powerbomb.

Winner: Batista

Match 3

Christopher Nowinsky vs Goldust

Third match in a row which was the same as yesterday's card with the exact same result. Goldust wins it with the Curtain Call.

Winner: Goldust by pinfall

Match 4

Lance Storm and William Regal vs Spike Dudley and The Hurricane

Same match as yesterday and pretty much all week except, just like yesterday, the Canadian gets the win. Lance Storm pins Dudley after a superkick.'

Winners: Lance Storm and William Regal by pinfall

Match 5

Test vs Kane

Same match as yesterday now that Kane was free of Triple H. Kane wins it with a tombstone.

Winner: Kane by pinfall

Match 6

D-Lo Brown vs Raven

Just like Justin Credible, Raven wasn't long for WWE and was just wrestling out his contract. D-Lo Brown wins it with sky high.

Winner: D-Lo Brown by pinfall

Match 7

Victoria and Molly Holly vs Jacqueline and WWE Women's Champion Trish Status

Same match as yesterday but someone must have forgot that Trish was Canadian in Halifax. They got it right tonight as Trish gets the duke after a bulldog on Victoria.

Winners: Trish Stratus and Jacqueline by pinfall

Match 8

Rico vs Rob Van Dam in a Martial Arts Challenge

Rico did have experience in martial arts as well as Rob Van Dam. Worked shoots usually suck so I can't imagine how bad this was. Rob Van Dam wins after a five star frog splash....which you see in UFC all the time, right?

Winner: Rob Van Dam

Match 9

Bubba Ray Dudley and Spike Dudley vs Christian and Chris Jericho for the World Tag Team Championship

Like I mentioned yesterday, this match was on the house show circuit and did so well they brought it to last week's Raw where it ended up being the best match of the night. Once again the Canadians win it when Chris Jericho pinned Jeff after a lionsault.

Winners: Christian and Chris Jericho (still World Tag Team Champions)

Unlike last night in Halifax, all the Canadians won this time. Christian and Jericho were probably going to win anyway but Trish and Lance Storm got thrown bones as well as Regal and Storm were putting over Spike and Helms in the States. With Triple H and Booker T not there and Shawn Michaels not back to active duty yet, these cards look painful to sit through on paper. Raw was pretty much lackluster as it was on television, can't imagine what the house shows were like. The stars of Smackdown were in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on this same day so I'll see yall there for the next show.

WWE at Halifax Forum (11/2/02)

Halifax Forum
Halifax, Nova Scotia
November 2, 2002

The stars of Raw travel from Springfield, Massachusetts all the way to friggin Halifax, Nova Scotia for a Saturday night spot show. The stars of Smackdown were in Wilkes-Barre that night but the Raw crew went over the border to Canada. Most of the card was from the same run they had been doing with a few matches carried over from last night in Springfield. Let's get to it then.

Match 1

3 Minute Warning (Rosey & Jamal) vs Tommy Dreamer and Johnny Stamboli

No Mark Jindrak advertised this time, guess they liked what they saw out of Stamboli to keep him with Dreamer for this house show run. Rosey takes out Stamboli with the Samoan drop again.

Winners: 3 Minute Warning by pinfall

Match 2

Justin Credible vs Batista

Credible only had a few months left on his contract while Batista was being groomed for a run on television as a repackaged monster heel. Gee, I wonder who was going to win. Batista takes it with a sit-down powerbomb.

Winner: Batista by pinfall

Match 3

Christopher Nowinski vs Goldust

Same match from yesterday in Springfield with the same result. Goldust wins it with the Curtain Call.

Winner: Goldust by pinfall

Match 4

Test (with Stacy Keibler) vs Kane

Now that the god awful Katie Vick storyline is over with, Kane gets to move on from Triple H. Also Test gets to move on from Rob Van Dam as well on the house show circuit. Unfortunately for Test, Kane wins it with the tombstone.

Winner: Kane by pinfall

Match 5

Spike Dudley & The Hurricane vs William Regal & Lance Storm

The same match that had been on the house show circuit only this time the heels got the duke. Storm pinned Spike after a superkick. Guess Spike and Helms thought Storm deserved to win in his native Canada.

Winners: Lance Storm and William Regal by pinfall

Match 6

Raven vs D-Lo Brown

Once again Raven faces D-Lo on the house show circuit and once again D-Lo wins it with Sky High. Nothing new here.

Winner: D-Lo by pinfall

Match 7

Victoria and Molly Holly vs WWE Women's Champion Trish Stratus and Jacqueline

Funny how they threw Lance Storm a bone by having him win in his home country after jobbing on every house show in the States.....and Jackie takes the pin rather than give Trish the win. Oh well, Molly and Victoria get the duke.

Winners: Victoria and Molly Holly by pinfall

Match 8

Rob Van Dam vs Rico in a Martial Arts Match

No idea what they were going for by having Rico fight Rob Van Dam in a worked shoot but at least it was something new. RVD takes it with the 5 Star Frog Splash....just like in a real fight right?

Winner: Van Dam by pinfall

Match 9

Bubba Ray Dudley and Jeff Hardy vs Christian and Chris Jericho for the World Tag Team Championship

As mentioned yesterday, this match had been on the house show circuit and they found a way to put it on Raw this past Monday. If their match on Monday was any indication, this was a hell of a pairing. Brass threw Jericho and Christian a bone by making this the main event since they were both from Canada. Once again Jericho pinned Jeff after waffling him with a title belt.

Winners: Christian and Chris Jericho by pinfall (still World Tag Team Champions)

All in all the Canadians got their due with Storm picking up a victory and the tag title match put on last. Too bad Trish didn't win either but oh well. They were incorporating new matches even if some from the previous run were carrying over. Still, the problem with Raw was their god awful storylines were like a plague. I don't know what attendance was for Raw and Smackdown at the time but I wouldn't be surprised if Smackdown was drawing more. Still, without the storylines, this looks like a good card. Now while this was going on in Halifax, Smackdown had their own show in Wilkes-Barre going on plus an episode of Velocity was set to air. I'll see you in Wilkes-Barre.

WWE at Springfield Civic Center (11/1/02)

Springfield Civic Center
Springfield, Massachusetts
November 1, 2002

The stars of Raw came to Springfield, MA for a Friday night house show four days after the return of Shawn Michaels to Raw. Tonight's card was advertised for 3 Minute Warning against Tommy Dreamer and Mark Jindrak, Justin Credible against Batista, Christopher Nowinski against Goldust, Bubba Ray Dudley and Jeff Hardy against Christian and Chris Jericho for the World Tag Team titles, D-Lo Brown vs Raven, Rob Van Dam vs Test, Trish Stratus and Jacqueline vs Molly Holly and Victoria, Spike Dudley and The Hurricane vs William Regal and Lance Storm then Kane vs Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship. Its almost the exact same card they've been running with for a week except the first couple of matches. Let's get to it.

Match 1

3 Minute Warning (Rosey & Jamal) vs Tommy Dreamer and Johnny Stamboli

This was supposed to be Dreamer and Mark Jindrak but Mark must have hurt his knee again so Stamboli took his place. Rosey pinned Stamboli after a Samoan drop.

Winners: 3 Minute Warning by pinfall

Match 2

Justin Credible vs Batista

Once again, Batista was sent to Raw for a real big push but hadn't been shown on TV yet. They were seeing how he did on the house shows first and clearly he was getting a buzz. Batista takes it with a sit-down powerbomb.

Winner: Batista by pinfall

Match 3

Christopher Nowinski vs Goldust

Nowinski has been a pain in the ass on Raw showing respect to no one including Al Snow or anyone else. Goldust would be his latest test. Unfortunately for the Harvard man, Goldust wins it with the curtain call.

Winner: Goldust by pinfall

Match 4

Bubba Ray Dudley and Jeff Hardy vs Christian and Chris Jericho for the World Tag Team Championship

These four had been tearing up the house show circuit and finally got to have a match on this past Raw, the only bright spot to an otherwise bad show. Jericho got the pin for his team after hitting Jeff Hardy with one of the belts.

Winners: Jericho and Christian by pinfall (still World Tag Team Champions)

Match 5

Test vs Rob Van Dam

These two had been going around the house show circuit with the exact same finish and tonight was no different. RVD wins with the 5 star frog splash.

Winner: Van Dam by pinfall

Match 6

Raven vs D-Lo Brown

Just like the previous match, this one has been on all the house shows leading up to this one. As usual, D-Lo takes it with Sky High.

Winner: D-Lo Brown by pinfall

Match 7

Molly Holly and Victoria vs Jacqueline and WWE Women's Champion Trish Status

Once again the exact same match that was on the mid-west trip only this time, Molly and Victoria come out on top.

Winners: Holly and Victoria

Match 8

Spike Dudley and The Hurricane vs William Regal and Lance Storm

Stop me if you've heard this, the same exact match that had been on all the house shows the past week. As always, Spike wins it with an Acid Drop on Lance Storm.

Winners: Spike and Hurricane by pinfall

Match 9

Kane vs Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship

The good news was the feud was coming to an end with Shawn Michaels returning to active duty but they still had to get through this round of house shows. As per norm, Kane went nuts with a chair on everyone and Triple H wins by disqualification.

Winner: Triple H by disqualification (still World Heavyweight Champion)

The final six matches had been on every card the past week but the first three were something new. As I mentioned, Shawn Michaels was coming back so they just had to get through this round with the exact same card before something different was coming. Still, Bubba and Jeff had a great match with Jericho and Christian on Raw so their house show matches must have been good as well. Batista is definitely in for good things in the future and eventually Kane vs HHH will end. Tomorrow is a double shot where both brands are holding shows. Smackdown's stars will be in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania while Raw will be in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I'll see ya in Halifax.

WWE Monday Night Raw (10/21/02)

OCTOBER 21, 2002
GAYLORD ENTERTAINMENT CENTER
KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE

Commentators: Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler

Now that No Mercy is over, now its time for the lead up to Survivor Series. But first, let's talk about No Mercy from the Raw end of things. The Intercontinental championship is gone but Triple H is still the World Heavyweight Champion. Chris Jericho and Christian are still the World Tag Team Champions, Rob Van Dam had beaten Ric Flair in a single's match, Big Show is unhappy that he's doing nothing on Raw and Trish Stratus had beaten Victoria to remain women's champion but Victoria beat her up after the match. Hopefully they can put the Katie Vick crap in the past and focus on Survivor Series. Before the show starts, we have a dark match and Sunday Night Heat. We'll only do the dark match.

Dark Match

Redd Dogg and Kevin Fertig vs Charlie Haas and Justin Credible

Talk about before they were stars. Born Rodney Begnaud, he was trained by the Junkyard Dog and worked the indies until signing with Extreme Championship Wrestling at the end of their run. After ECW got bought out, Redd Dogg worked OVW and was getting his tryout here. Charlie and his brother Russ were known as The Haas Brothers in Heartland Wrestling but tragically Russ had a heart attack and died in November 2001 at the age of 27. If you ever see Charlie with the initials RH on wrist tape or his rights, that's why. Kevin Fertig was working Memphis Championship Wrestling under the name Seven when WWF switched from MCW to Ohio Valley Wrestling as their developmental. Kevin got signed by WWE in April and this was a tryout match. We all know who Justin Credible is. Haas and Credible got the duke.

Winners: Haas and Credible

We begin the show with a montage of "Kane is a murderer" along with Triple H winning the night before so there goes my "put Katie Vick in the past" idea. Triple H and Ric Flair dressed in business casual hit the ring for a speech. Jim Ross says Shawn Michaels is in a wheelchair now due to Triple H's attack at Summerslam and he'll check in later. Hunter tells the crowd, writers and anyone who felt he didn't deserve to be handed the title "Screw you!" He says he's beaten everyone and ended 23 years of IC title history, he does what he wants and nobody can do anything about it. Hunter tells "Naitch" that he can do it because he's untouchable and he says beating Kane is like one more nail in Katie Vick's coffin. Triple H "I hope Kane hasn't gotten into an accident and killed someone." Ross "That's supposed to be funny?" Hunter says he's got a video tape of Kane having sex with Katie Vick when she's dead and warns people that its the most graphic thing he's ever seen. All of a sudden The Hurricane hits the ring and cleans house of Hunter and Ric. He grabs the tape and runs for it but Flair cuts him off and drops him. He gets thrown into the steps and Hunter grabs a mic to say it doesn't matter what Hurricane does because after he shows the tape, Kane's career will be like Katie, dead. Ross says this is distasteful and I couldn't agree more. I don't want to spoil the ending for those reading this for the first time but let's just say it was to this day one of the worst wrestling angles of all time.

Match 1

Jeff Hardy vs Christopher Nowinski.

When we get back from commercial, Jeff Hardy comes out for a singles match and Ross is still distracted by Hunter's words. Nowinski enters walking to the ring without his Harvard varsity jacket. King hypes up Harvard football and says Oklahoma beat Nebraska. Ross "Everybody beats Nebraska this year" The bell rings as Nowinski takes Hardy over with a snap mare. King hypes up Chris' legit Harvard background as Chris gets in a headlock. Nowinski dropes Hardy before being thrown over the top rope. Hardy plancha's over the referee, over the top rope and onto Chris. Nowinski hot shots Jeff off the top rope and drops Hardy with elbows. Ross hypes up Nowinski's Tough Enough run but King comntinues to babble about the "sex tape". Hardy almost gets a three off a Thez Press as King won't shut up about sex and semen. I hate when commentators ignore the match at hand but luckily Ross tries to keep his composure. Nowinski gets a series of near falls as Ross says its going to be Kane and RVD against Triple H and Ric Flair. Hardy catches Chris with an inside cradle but Nowinski knocks him down again. Ross hypes up Velocity and Confidential this coming Saturday as Nowinski hotshots Hardy again leading to a near fall. Chris gets mulekicked and starts open handed chopping Nowinski in the chest. Hardy drops both legs on the mid-section of Nowinski but Chris goes outside to avoid the swanton bomb. Hardy drops on top of Chris anyway which pisses Nowinski off. Nowinski grabs a chair but Al Snow comes out of nowhere to stop him from using it. Nowinski rips it away only to turn around into a dropkick into the chair by Hardy. Nowinski falls ontop of the chair and Hardy goes for the swanton but Snow pulls Nowinski out of the way. Hardy lands on the chair and Nowinski covers for 1...2.....3 that's it. Snow looks miserable and Ross wonders why he'd hurt and help Nowinski. Its obvious storyline wise Al cares about his ex student enough to stop him from breaking the rules but won't let him get hurt. Ross says Nowinski doesn't even appreciate it as we cut here. Not a bad match but nothing special either, Nowinski was a rising heel star and needed a victory over Jeff to add to his resume.

Time of match: 5:53

Winner: Chris Nowinski by pinfall

We cut to Eric Bischoff in his office watching the tape from No Mercy of him getting punked out by Big Show. Someone knocks on the door and Eric thinks it's Big Show but its actually Stacy Keibler. She wants to referee a match and Eric tells her any match but the main event, just leave. Stacy leaves and in walks Big Show. Eric says he's sorry about last night but turns around and says Show is in a 3 on 1 handicap match with Rico, Jamal and Rosey. Eric says there's nothing he can do about it and laughs in his face.
After that we cut to Tommy Dreamer finding Al Snow and asking him why he cost Tommy the match with Chris Nowinski the week before. Al says what I said earlier and didn't want Nowinski to get hurt. Tommy counters by saying HE'S gonna get hurt because its going to be him against Snow in a Singapore Cane match later. Nowinski shows up and says he doesn't need Snow's help, thanks but no thanks. Both segments established matches later in the night so at least they weren't pointless.

Match 2

Lance Storm and William Regal vs Bubba Ray and Spike Dudley

The winner of this match is the number 1 contender to the World Tag Team Championships held by Christian and Chris Jericho. Lance in the short red tights wants to be serious for a minute, he says The Unamericans are finished but he and Regal are together. Lance says the US is a zoo of savages and Regal says the US is a cesspool. Regal "How far does this country deteriorate before you people listen to us?". The Dudleys come out to shut up the heels as Ross says Bubba suffered a grade 2 concussion and Lawler says he's got a grade 2 brain. Spike and Lance start and Lance takes him down with a go-behind. The crowd chants "We want tables" immediately as Spike executes a nice cradle on Storm for a two count. Ross says they're going to see the tape later and Ross sarcastically says they should talk about Katie Vick for weeks.  Bubba tags in and they STILL babble on about Katie Vick as Bubba gets the upperhand. Ross brings up Big Show crossing Bischoff leading to a handicap match as the crowd chants USA.  Regal hits Bubba in the back of the head and Bubba sells it like he's still concussed. Regal tags in as Ross says William is one of the most viscious wrestlers ever. A camera shot shows Kane arriving at the arena as Storm saves Regal from a Spike pinfall attempt. Storm gets nailed with a hurricarana off the top but Regal stops him. Bubba hits a Bubba Bomb on Storm as Spike nails Regal with the Acid Drop. Spike covers Regal for 1...2....3 and the Dudleys are the number 1 contenders. Storm hits Bubba with a superkick to the back of the head then holds Spike for Regal's brass knuckles. Regal caves in Spike's ribs with the knucks and Spike starts spitting up blood. The heels keep their heat despite Spike and Bubba being the number 1 contenders. Short, sweet and to the point.

Time of match: 3:26

Winners: The Dudleys by pinfall

After the commercial, Ross hypes up the intergender tag match later between Booker T, Goldust and Trish Stratus against Christian, Chris Jericho and Victoria. Trish finishes a photoshoot as the camera dude asks why Victoria jumped her after last night's match and Trish says she's jealous and crazy. She goes to say that Victoria is spreading rumors about Trish sleeping her way to the top when Jericho and Christian show up. They tell the camera guy to get lost and Jericho sarcastically wishes her good luck. Christian passive aggressively says why should we believe she didn't sleep her way to the top after she barked like a dog on all fours for Vince McMahon (how overcame that is a testament to her dedication to improving as a wrestler because to this day people still remember her doing that). Jericho says to send a message to Booker and Goldust that they're not "suckas" and they're the champs. Jericho says the stories of Trish sleeping around is true and she should get her some of her. After they leave Trish says "Talk about delusional". Wait 17 months and we'll come back to this.
Bischoff comes out and say tonight Big Show's gonna find out what happens when you put your hands on him and at Survivor Series, Stephanie McMahon is going to find out what happens when you try to out-promote Eric Bischoff. Eric says Hell in a Cell the night before was awesome but Eric claims its going to pale in comparison for the match he has in mind. He says he has an ingenious creation at Survivor Series which he will call the Elimination Chamber. Ross "The hell is that?" Lawler "Sounds scary". Eric puts on a mean mug and leaves as Lawler says he wants to hear more. Basically this was the start of what we now know today as the Elimination Chamber. So mark your calandars, October 21, 2002 was when it was first mentioned.
Stacy Keibler in her referee bra walks down the hallway as King whoops it up. Apparently she's going to refereeing the next match when we get back from break. Back from break we get a vignette hyping up Batista coming to Raw. The Reverend D'Von angle had run its course and wrestling history was about to be made with Batista coming to Raw, but that's for another time.

Match 3

D-Lo Brown vs Test

Keibler will be the referee for this match and she bends over much to the crowd's delight as JR reels off legendary wrestling referees including WWWF's own Dick Woerhle. Test comes out in the short gray tights and Stacy lets him in the ring. Test looks at her funny and goes to the second rope to absolutely no pop from the crowd. Stacy tells both men she's the boss and slaps D-Lo across the face, which causes Test to laugh before calling for the bell. D-Lo goes to back her down but Test attacks him from behind. Test hits a backdrop as D-Lo got serious airtime on it. Test goes to work with elbows and boots in the corner. Ross says Test is 6'7 and 280 pounds but has no idea what Stacy weighs. Test clotheslines D-Lo in the corner as Ross once again talks about the "sex tape". D-Lo hits Test with clotheslines and says "getcho ass up" before dropping him with a dropkick, scoopslam and D-Lo leg drop. D-Lo covers and Stacy counts pathetically slow as the crowd boos. D-Lo reverses the pump handle slam and hits sky high. D-Lo covers but Stacy ties her shoe. D-Lo yells at her but turns around into the Test big boot. Test covers and Stacy fast counts 1-2-3 as King scoffs. Stacy jumps into Test's arms after the bell as JR says "Now have you ever seen Earl Hebner do that to somebody?" Hahahahahahahaha!!!!! Test leaves arm in arm with Stacy and Test starts to like it. Bad match but it set up Test and Stacy as a couple moving forward.

Time of match: 2:21

Winner: Test by pinfall

We go to Terri Runnells interviewing Victoria who runs down Trish saying they were friends that were supposed to make it together. In the middle of her ranting, Goldust sneaks up from behind and mocks her before insulting her. Booker T comes in and helps Goldust insult her. He says you can't spell Jericho without the H-O. He says he's gonna give Jericho some Vitamin T up his ass, SUCKAAAAAAAAA. The crowd pops as Goldust spanks Victoria before they leave. Twitter would explode if he Goldust did that today. Anyway the match is up next after the commercial break.

Match 4

Chris Jericho, Christian and Victoria vs Booker T, Goldust and Trish Stratus

Trish enters to her new Lil Kim theme that she'd keep for the rest of her WWE run as JR asks King if he likes Lil Kim. King says Goldust was disrespectful for smacking Victoria's bee-hind and JR says King is just jealous. Booker T gets the loudest pop of anyone as King hypes up tonight's sponsors. Victoria enters to some generic theme as Christian is still using the opera theme. King babbles on about the sex tape as Trish bumrushes Victoria off the bat and gets a nearfall. Victoria counters with a drop toe hold before hitting a back drop. Trish kicks Victoria down then Christian tags in, backing her into the corner. Trish slaps his face and ducks under a right hand before making the tag to Booker T. Booker axe kicks him down before attacking him in the corner. Jericho interferes and gets dropped before T hits another kick on Christian. Ross says Booker is a nine time tag team champion as a cover gets a deuce. Booker chops Christian then drops Jericho to the floor. Booker goes after Victoria as Christian clotheslines him out of the ring. All 3 heels put the boots to Booker before throwing him inside where Jericho covers for a two count. Y2J suplexes Booker before striking him repeatedly with JR continuing to babble about the sex tape. I have to wonder if Vince is in his ear telling him to repeat it again and again or if Ross is doing it on his own merit? Hopefully its just Vince since its well documented that Vince proudly paraded around this storyline to a room full of horrified writers and agents. Booker sunset flips Jericho for a two count as JR ignores the match to hype up tonight's upcoming matches....and I hate it. Christian tags in as JR and King continue to babble on about Big Show's handicap match. Christian gets in a chinlock that Booker powers out of. Christian tags out to Jericho who taunts the crowd and gets the upperhand. Booker T lands the Alabama slam before tagging in Goldust. Goldust cleans house of Christian and Jericho and even drops Victoria with an ass bump. He hits a powerslam on Jericho but the cover gets a two count. Goldust lands a bulldog but Jericho gets his foot on the rope. Jericho elbows Goldust into the corner and Trish tags in. Trish hits a bodypress from off the top but the cover only gets two. Christian trips up Trish and pulls her out of the ring but Goldust sets up Y2J for shattered dreams. Victoria stops him but Goldust kisses her before sending her into Jericho. Christian runs in with a title belt and waffles Goldust with it before he's sent to the outside by Booker T. Trish does the stratusphere to take Jericho off the top rope, but runs into a lariat. Jericho applies the Lion Tamer and Trish taps to end the match. Refree Nick Patrick tries to get Jericho off but Booker T knocks Jericho off of her. JR "That Jericho is a real jerk!". Jericho raises Victoria's arm and says "I'm no sucka!" We go to the replay of Jericho winning the match as JR continues to scoff. Intergender matches in those days could go either way but that was a good one. The heels keep their heat and establish Booker T as a contender.

Time of match: 7:10

Winners: Victoria, Chris Jericho and Christian by submission

After the match, HHH hands the tape to the production truck as we look at the WWE website. Ah the good ol days of dial up and DSL in its infancy. We go to Terri Runnells who is outside of Kane's lockerroom and sends it to Jonathan Coachman with Triple H. Coach asks why he's doing this and Hunter says its to expose Kane as a freak. Hunter says roll the tape and its dated 10/09/92. I'm not going to describe it other than its a now infamous video where Hunter dressed as Kane molests a body inside a casket. Ironically the great RD Reynolds of Wrestlecrap.com bought the actual Katie Vick outfit from this show as a joke. Anyway, its one of the most distasteful segments in wrestling history and I don't want to remember it. We cut to Triple H laughing his ass off with Coach giving him a "really?" look. Hunter "What a sick freak"...ironic. Back to Terri who tries to enter Kane's room but he slams the door on her. Let's go to commercial.

Match 5

Al Snow vs Tommy Dreamer in a Singapore Cane match

JR said it best as Al Snow makes his intro "What the hell was Triple H thinking?". More so Vince McMahon coming up with it and Hunter going along with it. Anyway, we look at Al Snow saving Nowinski earlier  King "When's Al going to figure out that he's not wanted." Dreamer and Snow circle each other armed with canes and they start cane fighting. They whack each other in the legs before Al clotheslines Dreamer out of the ring with it. Dreamer nails Snow in the ribs coming off the apron then continues to wail on Snow. Al headbutts Dreamer before suplexing him on the floor. Al throws Dreamer inside but Dreamer grabs a cane inside. King continues to ramble on about the "sex tape" as Dreamer winds up the cane. Dreamer nails Snow in the gonads before wailing away on him. Chris Nowinski runs to ringside, grabs a cane and goes to hit Dreamer. Unfortunately Nowinski nails Snow in the head by accident and Dreamer covers for 1...2...3 to end it. JR is confused as Dreamer looks mad that Nowinski did that as Chris himself walks off expressionless. Dreamer checks on Snow as JR says they go way back to ECW. I like old ECW so it didn't bother me but I can see how others can see this as boring. Point was Nowinski and Snow are not on the same page.

Time of match: 3:00 (did I just type out....THREE MINUTES??)

Winner: Tommy Dreamer by pinfall

We go to commercial and come back for the next match

Match 6

Big Show vs 3 Minute Warning (Jamal and Rosey) and Rico in a 3 on 1 handicap match

I love how they don't even mention how Jamal's brother Rikishi completely humiliated Bischoff the night before. Anyway Big Show comes out completely pissed off and the trio bum rush him at the opening bell. He fends them off at first but they corner him. Show drops all three of them and cleans house to a babyface pop. JR finds it impressive that Show just manhandled the 375 pound Rosey and 350 pound Jamal. Rico regroups with his team outside and gets caught on camera saying "circle his fucking ass".  They do circle Big Show as Jamal and Rosey hit him with a double clothesline that he doesn't sell. Show double clotheslines them out of the ring then beats around Rico. Show chops and hiptosses Rico but Jamal and Rosey prevent the chokeslam. Jamal hits a superkick to drop Show and the three of them beat the daylights out of Show. Show kicks Rico down before sending 3 Minute Warning into each other. Show scoop slams the 375 pound Rosey and hits a sidewalk slam on Jamal. Show throws Rico and Rosey out of the ring before chokeslamming Jamal. Show covers Jamal for 1...2..3..to win the match amidst a huge babyface pop. JR says the giant has awoken as Big Show leaves as angry as ever. JR says when this man is motivated, he's an extraordinary athlete. Unfortunately WWE creative had other plans for Big Show because THIS angry giant who just mowed down 3 guys at once would have been a perfect opponent for Triple H. But that's a story for another day.

Time of match: 2:54

Winner: Big Show by pinfall

Shawn Michaels wheels himself around as JR says he's coming up next. When we come back from commercial Coach interviews Big Show but Bischoff interrupts. Bischoff says Show has been traded to Smackdown and he never wants to see him again. Bischoff says he'll be hearing from his attorney in the morning as Show tells Coach "Don't feel sorry for me, you still have to work with that asshole." Hahahahahaha. Like I said a minute ago, WWE had different plans for Big Show and its unfortunate because of the pop he got from laying waste to 3 Minute Warning. JR asks who he was traded for when a car backs into the camera frame. Its The Hurricane who stands in front of an open trunk as Ross asks what's the meaning of this.
The camera shows The World in Times Square as we go to highlights of Michaels vs HHH at Summerslam where Hunter attacked him with a sledgehammer. Shawn wheels himself onto the stage of The World and Ross asks how he's feeling. Shawn says he's feeling better but not 100 percent yet. Shawn says his rehab is going slow and he's got nothing left to prove in wrestling but he doesn't want to quit. He says he's doing it for God, his wife and his son and he says Triple H shouldn't hunt what he can't kill. HBK says he's going to get Triple H down the line and says he's going to show Ross something. Shawn nips up out of the chair showing he's fine and he cuts a promo saying Hunter will never see it coming when Shawn gets his revenge. The crowd pops when HBK pops up and its very apparent that Shawn is ready to return to active duty after 4 and half years off. We cut to commercial as JR says Hunter isn't going to like this at all. Let's go to commercial.

We come back from commercial and head right to the main event.

Match 7

Kane and Rob Van Dam vs World Heavyweight Champion Triple H and Ric Flair

Flair comes out first as Ross says he's been wrestling for 30 years. Hunter makes his entrance and JR continues to scoff at him for the stupid necrophelia. JR "We can't have semen in wrestling." Yeah really, leave this crap in the Attitude Era. JR says Hunter has beaten nobody since he needed Ric Flair's help to beat RVD at Unforgiven and Kane at No Mercy. Lawler hypes that Survivor Series will be at Madison Square Garden. Rob Van Dam enters as JR says he beat Flair the night before. Kane walks out who sells the ribs after getting hit the night before with the hammer. Its a brawl to start with Kane taking on Hunter in the corner with Van Dam and Flair in the other. Kane and RVD contol with tag team tactics to start before Kane clotheslines Hunter out of the ring. Flair chops Rob but Van Dam counters with his step over kick and rolling thunder. Rob covers for 1...2....nope. A charge in the corner by Flair eats elbow and Van Dam delivers a dropkick from the second rope. Kane throws Hunter in the ring who knocks Kane off the apron into the security wall. Van Dam nails Hunter inside the ring with a spinning wheel kick and goes upstairs. Flair throws Van Dam off the top to the security wall as JR screams at King that it wasn't actually Kane on the sex tape. Earl Hebner yells at Hunter as Flair throws Van Dam into the ring steps by Flair. JR calls Ric the dirtiest player in the game as Hunter covers Van Dam for a deuce inside the ring. Lawler said he saw JR kiss Vince's ass before and JR counters by saying he's seen Mae Young give birth to a hand. Talk about bringing up all the garbage in the past couple of years. Flair hits a low blow on Rob and puts the boots to him. Hebner shoves Flair away as Hunter takes advantage with a right hand. Flair chops away in the corner as JR says Kane had the match won the night before. Flair drops Rob before making the tag to Hunter. Hunter delivers a high knee to RVD and covers but Kane breaks it up. Flair tags in and continues to work over Rob as Lawler continues to laugh at the sex tape. Lawler says the only people who didn't find the tape funny was JR and Kane. JR "Next time I drive by an accident on the interstate, I'll start booing." Flair rams Rob into Hunter's knee before Hunter tags in. Rob catches Hunter with a roll up for a deuce before he eats a clothesline from The Game. Hunter locks in a sleeperhold as King says Hunter took Kane off his game with his antics which is the only logical explanation to this horrible storyline. Flair tags in but eats a savate kick only he gets up first to prevent a tag. Flair goes upstairs as JR says "This never works. What an idiot!" Sure enough, Van Dam slams him off the top rope as JR says "He's been doing this for 20 years and it never works. One of these days he'll actually land on somebody." Van Dam hits a spinning wheel kick on Flair but Flair once again prevents a tag. Hunter tags in as Lawler asks what yin yang is. JR "I wear a black hat, how the hell would I know?" JR scolds King for laughing but Van Dam drops Hunter with a dropkick. Flair distracts the referee so they do the "face makes the tag but the ref doesn't see it" routine as Lawler talks about Stacy Keibler. Hunter sends Van Dam into the ringpost and Flair covers him inside for a deuce. Van Dam finally crawls over to tag Kane who cleans house of Hunter and Flair. JR "What does Hulkamania and necrophelia have to do with anything?" Kane grabs HHH and Falir but they block the double chokeslam. Kane and Hunter spill to the floor as Van Dam ends up in the ring. Flair hits a low blow and back suplex as Kane sends Hunter into the entrance before they both are out of sight. Down to Flair and Rob, Rob hits a top rope missile dropkick. Rob hits rolling thunder, goes upstairs and hits the five star frog splash. The cover gets 1..2...3 to end the match. The match itself was fine but the Lawler and JR commentary was just eye roll inducing, even by Ruthless Aggression standards. Van Dam gets one over on Flair again as Ric makes another younger guy look good.

Time of match: 13:24

Winners: Kane and Rob Van Dam by pinfall.

We cut to Kane continuing to beat up Hunter in the back. He throws Hunter around the interview area and then spots Hurricane with the trunk open. Kane sends Hunter into the Pepsi vending machine and then into the parking vendor door. Hunter goes for the pedigree on the cement but Kane slingshots hunter into Hurricane's rental car. Kane chokeslams Hunter off the hood then throws him into the trunk. Hurricane slams the trunk shut and Kane tells him to get out of there. He says "Hunter, you hear me in there? I'm gonna screw YOU! The only question is, will you still be alive or should I wait till your dead?" Kane gets behind the wheel and drives off to end the show. Guess that was Kane's rental but Hurricane was definitely in on it. Either way the show ends with Kane about to get some payback on Triple H, hopefully its not as distasteful as what Hunter had in mind.

All in all in ring wise it was a good show but was overshadowed by the god awful Katie Vick storyline. They barely spoke about No Mercy on commentary and didn't even mention the British Rebellion pay-per-view coming up, but then again maybe that's for the best. Hey Smackdown, save yourselves! Speaking of Smackdown, that's the next show after this and it'll be interesting to see the fallout of Hell in a Cell with Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker. Not to mention Big Show just got traded to Smackdown so let's see what happens there. As for this Raw, the less said of it, the better.

WWE Monday Night Raw (9/23/02)

Oh are there changes aplenty for the roster of Monday Night Raw. The fallout of Unforgiven and the march to No Mercy begins tonight. Last night The Unamericans angle came to an unoffical end after Booker T, Goldust, Kane and Bubba Ray Dudley defeated the three Canadians and Englishman. 3 Minute Warning ended up defeating Billy and Chuck but Eric Bischoff got his comeuppance thanks to Rikishi in drag....yeah. Chris Jericho retained his Intercontinental championship against Ric Flair which inexplicably caused Ric to turn heel on Rob Van Dam and help Triple H retain the World Heavyweight Championship. We have a new Women's champion as Trish Stratus defeated Molly Holly to get back on top of the mountain. So where do we go from here? Let's find out.

WWE Monday Night Raw
September 23, 2002
Arrowhead Pond
Anaheim, CA

Commentators: Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler

Ring Announcer: Lillian Garcia

We don't waste any time, we get right to the first match.

Match 1

Molly Holly vs Victoria vs Trish Stratus for the WWE Women's Championship

Trish defeated Molly last night to win the title and show she has to fend off not only Molly but the insane Victoria as well. JR hypes up tonight's card which has Lance Storm and Christian defending the WWE Tag Team Championship against Kane and a mystery partner. We also got The Union Underground performing the Raw theme live with the Divas dancing....my how times have changed. Victoria doesn't even wait for Molly to make her entrance as she attacks Trish right from the get go. Molly sprints to the ring and throws Trish down. Trish gets double teamed and scoop slammed by Molly. Victoria does a Sabu style leg drop and Molly is impressed, very nice. Victoria kicks Molly by accident and Trish rolls up Victoria for a deuce. Victoria executes a back slide but Molly kicks Victoria off. They shove each other but deliver a back elbow to Trish. Victoria whips Trish into the corner and Molly does her handspring elbow and Victoria does a shoulder tackle in the corner. Victoria slaps Trish down but Trish ducks the line and delivers a double clothesline. Trish rallies against both of them and does a neckbreaker to Victoria. Chick Kick drops Molly and she does Stratusphere to Victoria off the top. Trish goes for the Stratusfaction but gets thrown over the top to the floor by Molly in a nasty bump. Victoria sneak attacks Molly and covers for 1....2..nope. We got to the replay of the bump as Victoria delivers a vertical suplex. Victoria goes up top but misses the moonsault. Trish slides back in and O'Connor rolls Molly for a two before Molly reverses it for a deuce. Trish kicks Molly into Victoria and rolls her up again for 1...2....3 to win the match. Short and sweet but that was great for crash style. Trish used the heels incompetence against them to walk out still the champ.

Time of match: 3:18

Winner: Trish Stratus by pinfall (still Women's champion)

Backstage Goldust and Booker T are in front of a monitor with Booker T saying they have a special presentation for the babyface locker room. In the crowd are Jeff Hardy, Big Show, Kane, Bubba Ray Dudley and Steven Richards. Booker says they got something scary and hideous, Stank Wars: Rikishi's Ass Strikes Back. Its basically last night's Unforgiven with Eric getting his comeuppance from Stephanie McMahon and Rikishi. Everyone loves Eric getting kicked and stink faced by Rikishi. Big Show "Oh that's nasty." Goldust "I haven't seen anything that bad an unbearable since Chris Jericho's last Fozzy concert." Hahahaha. Goldust says as a special bonus he's brought a portrait of Rikishi's ass imposed on a picture of Eric Bischoff. All of a sudden Rico sticks his head through the curtain (??) and says "That's disgusting, that's despicable, I'm telling Eric!" Bubba throws an empty wrapper at him and he leaves. The babyfaces are happy but for how long?

Back from commercial Eric Bischoff welcomes someone to the Raw roster but we don't know who it is. Rico walks in as the person walks off and says "What's he doing on Raw? I thought he was on Smackdown?" Guess Bischoff made a trade. Eric "THERE YOU ARE!" Eric screams at Rico for taking off last night. Rico squeals on Booker T and Goldust and says everyone was laughing at him. Eric says he's going to put an end to that right now. Jim Ross calls Rico a tattletale as we cut to ring side. Ross calls him an opportunist. Here comes an angry Eric to the ring for a chat. Eric yells at the fans and says when he had Stephanie laid out by 3 Minute Warning, the Smackdown stars ran out to save her but last night he got beat up by Rikishi and no one saved him. Well, he DID send 3 Minute Warning away. Eric says he got a call from Vince McMahon as the crowd chants "asshole!". Vince has put a freeze on the contracts meaning no more jumping between shows unless there's a trade. Eric says he cut a couple of deals before the deadline which means if you're on Raw, you belong to him. Eric says he wants Booker T out there now. Booker hits the ring in street clothes and laughs at him. Eric asks if he thinks this is funny and Booker says "You damn skippy hippie. Just because you let Rikishi use your face for toilet paper, don't blame me." Eric says he doesn't know who he's dealing with and Booker says he's sorry and asks "After last night, does HLA still stand for hot lesbian action or huge lumpy ass?" Booker "Step back, your breath is heinous like a fat man's anus, NOW CAN YOU DIG THAT SUCKAAAAAAA." Eric tells him to stop laughing and to show some respect. All of a sudden Rosey runs in and starts attacking before Eric could give the 3 minutes cue. Jamal hits the ring too and Booker wards them off but Rico attacks from behind. Booker takes him down but the numbers game becomes too much and they kick his ass. Goldust hits the ring to save Booker and he delivers a double clothesline but Rico holds his legs. They beat down Goldust too as the crowd boos.

We cut to commercial and we come back to Eric celebrating with 3 Minute Warning in the back and saying that's what he wants to see. Eric says he's putting Booker and Goldust into singles competition and Rico volunteers to take out Booker. Chris Jericho walks up and is mad at Goldust for making fun of Fozzy. Eric says he's putting Chris against Goldust in an IC title match and says let's go celebrate. Eric, Rico, Jamal and Rosey walk off but Jericho stays behind stunned Eric made it a title match. Jericho "I never said anything about an Intercontinental championship match, Eric!" On to the next match.

Match 2

Jeff Hardy vs Big Show.

These guys were sitting next to each other like 10 minutes ago and now they're going at it. JR asks who Kane's mystery partner is for later as Show makes his entrance. Jeff attacks at ring side before Show can even get in. Show headbutts him and throws Jeff down. Show throws him inside but Jeff hits a suicide dive. Jeff continues to attack but Show press slams him down. Referee Nick Patrick tells them to get in. Big Show rolls Jeff in and finally gets in to officially start the match. Show clubs away at Jeff and delivers a slingshot front suplex on the top rope. Show drops a knee and stands on Jeff for 1....2....nope. Jeff dropkicks Show in the knee twice to knock him down and clubs away. Jeff goes upstairs and hits the Swanton. He rolls Show over and covers but Show heaves him off. A charge in the corner eats boot but Jeff ducks the line. Jeff just bounces off him as Ross says when motivated, Show can take out anyone. Show executes a rib breaker and chops him in the corner. Show does a backbreaker and does a double leg drop. Big Show does a big boot and sends Jeff into the corner who goes for a whil o whisp but Show catches him mid-air. Show turns it into a choke slam and covers for 1....2....3 to win the match. Hardy had no chance and Show pretty much squashed him. It did tell a story with Jeff attacking him before the bell to take Show off his game but it didn't work. If they were building up Big Show for Triple H in the future, they're doing a good job.

Time of match: 3:25

Winner: Big Show by pinfall

We go back two weeks to Christopher Nowinski getting his ass handed to him by Tommy Dreamer. King complains that Christopher was unarmed and we go to Christopher for an interview. Chris is in a classroom and says if Dreamer has the balls to face him, he'll be there to teach him a lesson; don't mess with a Harvard graduate. We go to a commercial where Pete Rose yells at kids trick or treating as wrestlers until the real Kane shows up. They squeezed that gag for years. Back from break Kane is doing pushups as King says Dreamer has answered the call. Nowinski wastes no time and beats up Tommy with the singapore cane. Dreamer fights back and they brawl all over the place. Dreamer dumps a bookcase on him and rams his head through the ceiling tiles. JR "I've never seen a course like this." King "He should be expelled." Nowinski gets the upper hand but Dreamer throws him almost through the wall. Dreamer hits him right in the jaw with the cane and says "Class dismissed." Way to keep the hardcore without the actual matches. JR says he'll be in the ring to introduce the newest Raw superstar when we come back from break. Back from break, Steven Richards gets in the ring for a match and JR gets in to introduce his opponent.....22 year old Randy Orton.

Match 3

Steven Richards vs Randy Orton

Guess the guy Eric was talking to earlier was Randy Orton because he's Steven Richards mystery opponent. King sings the praises of Orton as he goes around slapping hands. If they were trying the Rocky Maivia route, this is NOT going to work. JR and Orton shake hands as JR leaves. Bell's gone as King calls Steven a whacko. Steven "I'll show you" and they lock up. Steven gets the upper hands with forearms and a right hand. Orton arm drags and scoop slams Steven then delivers a dropkick. Randy covers for a deuce as JR sings the praises of Orton. Randy misses a charge and eats a back suplex. JR "He's 6'5, 245 and only 22 and if he doesn't get injured he's only the third second generation wrestler." Oh he'll get injured alright, but that comes with the territory. King brings up the cast on Bob Orton Jr's arm he had forever as Steven goes to work on the back of Orton in the corner. Referee Jack Doan yells at Steven as JR compares Orton to The Rock. Writing this over 20 years later, Orton did reach the top of the mountain of WWE but wasn't quite on The Rock's level, mostly due to he was much better as a heel, which is no shame at all. Back to 2002, Orton rolls up Steven for a deuce but eats a clothesline. Steven stomps on Randy and does a sidewalk slam for a two count. Richards does a snap mare and locks in a full nelson clutch. Ross and King bring up Randy going AWOL in the military and learned from his mistakes. JR says losing Randy is a blow to Smackdown as Steven goes for a rude awakening but Randy counters with a back suplex. JR "I don't have a tattoo on my back! What are you looking at my back for anyway, dirty old man!" Orton almost takes Steven's head off with a lariat and backdrops Steven. Orton goes for the babyface come back but the crowd chants "we want puppies!" Orton really is pulling a Rocky Maivia as he does his signature side backbreaker. He covers for 1....2....noooo. Randy eats an elevated DDT and Steven covers for 1....2....nope. Orton catches Steven with a powerslam but the cover only gets two. Orton eats a Stevie Kick and Steven covers for 1..2....nooooo. Steven covers again for a two count and he throws a temper tantrum, ripping his elbow pads off. Steven chokes Orton in the corner and sends him across the ring, but eats knee. Steve whips Orton up and over to avoid a charge and Randy hits the top rope crossbody for 1...2....3 to win the match. King "This kid is phenomenal."  JR sings Randy's praises again and its only going to get better for Randy. The babyface act isn't going to work but once he gets a character, the sky is the limit.

Time of match: 7:01

Winner: Orton by pinfall

We cut to the back to Ric Flair walking and JR says he owes us an explanation. Back from commercial, Lillian Garcia introduces The Union Underground performing Across The Nation, the Raw theme. As badass as Thorn In Your Eye was, that song was recorded in 1995 and its 2002, they needed a new theme. The band performs with the Divas dancing. Terri Runnells doesn't really look into it since its not a really a song to dance to while Jacqueline does her best. Lillian looks like she's just enjoying the song but Stacy Keibler being the former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader steals the show. Tremendous camera work has Stacy grinding on top of the camera to a huge pop. I know Jackie, Terri and Lillian were there for support but they were better off with just Stacy. That was essentially a waste of 5 minutes as King creams his pants, but at least Stacy made it worth watching.

Here comes Ric Flair for a chat about his actions last night. Flair says Triple H made him realize something. He said Flair had lost his passion, his guts and his instinct. He even looked him in the eye and said he was pathetic. Flair says Triple H was right because he cared more about the fans than he cared about himself. He was trying to be a mentor to guys that didn't want his help or advice anyway. Flair says Triple H grew up wanting to be just like him which makes a hell of a lot more sense than him "idolizing Hulk Hogan" back in April. Flair sings Triple H's praises and says its his job to take him to another level. Flair and HHH are gonna ride as high as he can go if he wants it. Flair goes into classic Ric and says he's gonna teach him how to be the World Heavyweight Champion as long as he wants. He just wants to be by his side so he can end his career the way he started it, on top. A pissed off, taped up Rob Van Dam makes his way out as Flair laughs at him. Ric "You found out first hand why I'm the dirtiest player in the game." HHH attacks RVD from behind and sends him into the steel steps. Flair and Hunter double team Rob in the ring. HHH grabs a mic and says "You don't get it do you? You can't win, you are done." Bubba Ray Dudley runs in to help his ECW buddy and gets taken down by HHH and Flair as well. Bubba is sent outside and they continue to assault Rob Van Dam. Bubba grabs a chair and the heels retreat. What made this work was HHH always was better at being a classic heel just like Flair and having him as a mentor extends his cerebral assassin character. With Stephanie on Smackdown, DX gone and Vince off TV, HHH needed another heel to draw heat with and Flair fits perfectly.

Back from break Jonathan Coachman catches up with an irate Bubba Ray Dudley. Bubba says "enough is enough and he's tired of hearing and seeing Triple H. This is not the Triple H or Ric Flair show, this is Raw. This is the fans show. I'll be damned if I have to sit through one more HHH or Ric Flair speech." Rob walks out and says let's go kick their asses. The ECW guys walk into Bischoff and Eric says its MY show. Eric says they'll face HHH and Flair in tag team action tonight. There's our main event. Eric makes a crack that Rob's ribs will be a target for Hunter and Flair. On to the next match.

Match 4

Goldust vs Chris Jericho for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Jericho stepped up to defend Eric Bischoff's honor and takes on Goldust even though he's not happy Eric made it a title match. King says Goldust may not be 100 percent after being attacked by 3 Minute Warning but no matter. Bell's gone and they circle to start. Its funny how these two went parallel to each other as Dustin left WCW a year before Jericho got there and Goldust left to back to WCW in June of 99 a few months before Jericho made his WWF debut. Goldust slaps Y2J to start and delivers a drop toe hold. He hiptosses Chris and hits him with Ass To Mouth. Jericho gets a thumb to the eye and chops Goldust against the ropes. Chris goes for a dropkick but Goldust counters with a slingshot into the corner. King brings up Goldust is no stranger to the building as he fought Roddy Piper here at Wrestlemania 12. Hard to believe these days but Wrestlemania up until 2008 were held in normal arenas including the Hartford Civic Center, Madison Square Garden, Boston Garden and Arrowhead Pond. King brings up Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart as Jericho does a reverse neckbreaker. Jericho goes to a nerve hold as King quips JR about Fozzy. Jericho clubs away at Goldust in the corner but Goldust fights out of it. Jericho drops Goldust with an elbow to the face and trash talks him. Y2J stuns Goldust onto the top rope and chokes him on the middle one. Jericho jumps on Goldust as JR hypes up the main event and Kane's mystery partner. Jericho stomps away at Goldust in the corner but a charge eats elbow. Another neckbreaker gets a two with Y2J's feet on the ropes and they slug it out again. Chris eats a huge lariat and then another clothesline. Jericho runs into a modified Bossman slam for a two count. The Goldust Uppercut stuns Chris but Chris rolls through the Curtain Call. A powerslam by Goldust gets a long two count and he counters Jericho's bulldog attempt by crotching him on the second rope in the corner. Goldust goes for Shattered Dreams but Chris pulls the ref in the way. Goldust throws the ref out of the way as JR says that wasn't smart. Chris catches Goldust with an enziguiri and locks in the Walls of Jericho. Goldust almost makes it to the ropes but Y2J pulls him back to the center of the ring. Goldust gives it up and Jericho retains. Good effort by Goldust but Y2J wins it. Good match even if it was a spur of the moment type decision.

Time of match: 6:39

Winner: Jericho by pinfall (still IC champion)

Back from break we see Meredith Brooks in the crowd who had a number 1 hit "Bitch" back in the 90's. Some idiot next to her photobombs her which is kind of funny. The Unamericans hit the ring with William Regal in tow. Kane comes out and his mystery partner is.....The Hurricane?

Match 5

Kane and The Hurricane vs Lance Storm and Christian (with William Regal) for the WWE Tag Team Championship

Apparently The Hurricane has jumped ship from Smackdown which kind of renders what Eric said about Vince being unhappy with the brand switches useless. Either way we got a title match so let's get to it. Bell rings as JR brings up Kane's crew beating The Unamericans last night. Hurricane slugs it out with Christian and Hurricane sends him into the corner. Hurricane gets in a blockbuster on Christian and a neckbreaker on Storm. Kane tags in and cleans house, slamming Christian on top of Storm. Kane rocket launches Hurricane into the heels and Hurricane slugs away at Christian. Regal trips up Hurricane and pulls him outside only to get decked. Christian hits a baseball slide and they quickly triple team Hurricane. Back inside Christian gets a foot on Hurricane's neck. Storm tags in and the crowd loudly chants USA. The champs double team and isolate Hurricane and Christian gets a backbreaker on him. Kane breaks up the pinfall attempt and Christian locks in a chinlock. Hurricane powers out of it but eats a boot to the stomach. Christian delivers a reverse backbreaker and covers for a deuce. Hurricane rallies with right hands and delivers the Hurricane Elbow. Storm tags in but Hurricane gets the tag to Kane. King asks why Kane chose HIM of all people and Kane gets double teamed by Christian and Storm. Kane drops both with a double clothesline and goes upstairs. He hits the flying clothesline on Storm and signals for the chokeslam. Suddenly Test hits the ring to distract referee Nick Patrick and Regal waffles Kane with the title belt. Shouldn't the mask block the impact? Storm covers for 1.....2...nope. Regal and Test can't believe it. They go to rush the ring but Nick Patrick steps between them and throws them both out. Referees Jack Doan and Charles Robinson run out and shoo Regal & Test away. Back inside Christian stomps away on Kane but Hurricane hits a Hurracarana off the top. Storm hits a dropkick on Christian by accident and Kane and Hurricane do a double chokeslam. Kane covers Storm for 1...2....three and we got new tag team champions. Love how The Unamericans were on TV for two months and Hurricane beats them on his first night. JR calls them The Green Machine and the Big Red Machine. Kind of a weird match but it served its purpose as we have new tag team champions. The Unamericans storyline was coming to an end while Kane was being elevated for a reason we'd find out eventually...ugh.

Time of match: 6:27

Winners: Kane and Hurricane by pinfall (new tag team champions)

Backstage Terri is with the new champ and she asks why Kane chose him. Hurricane says they're the perfect match. They both wear masks, use the chokeslam and have great physiques. "Wazzupwitdat!" Hurricane says he's been looking for a sidekick then says he's only joking when Kane puts his hand over Hurricane's mouth. Kane says he picked him because he's a freak just like him and the Kane-enites. Kane says freaks are cool and Hurricane wants to celebrate. Kane kisses Terri and screams happily, yikes, don't tell Goldust. Hurricane says "All Ameri-Kane" and runs off with him. Kane being treated as a joke doesn't really work long term but it sure is funny. Coach is in the heel locker room with The Unamericans and asks what happened. Christian says the belts were stolen by American incompetence and they're not gonna take it. Regal says the only ones to blame are themselves and they don't want to whine like Americans. "Its time to regroup". Regal says the interview is over and PISS OFF! Ha! On to the next match.

Match 6

Booker T vs Rico

3 Minute Warning attacked Booker and Goldust earlier and now Booker gets his hands on Rico. Rico still has the Billy & Chuck theme but Booker attacks him at the bell. Rico slugs it out but walks right into an axe kick. Booker punches away at Rico and King says Rico is tougher than he looks and Rico punches back at Booker. Rico goes to work in the corner with punches and kicks and does the X-Pac Kid. Rico covers for a deuce and King says he wants to see a Rico-roonie. Rico continues to kick away at Booker but eats an elbow smash. Booker rallies with knock down blows but gets a thumb to an eye. Rico goes off the ropes but Booker counters with the axe kick. Booker does the spinaroonie and does the scissors kick. He covers for 1..2....3 to win the match. Booker has no time to celebrate as Rosey and Jamal attack. Booker holds his own until the numbers game gets too much. Rico holds back the ref, Rosey holds Booker and Jamal hits the top rope splash. Goldust runs in and gets beaten up again in a mirror image of earlier in the show. Goldust does rally and uses miscommunication to get the upper hand on Rosey and Jamal. Goldust does manage to hit Shattered Dreams on Rico much to the crowd's delight but Rosey and Jamal once again gets the upperhand. 3 Minute Warning leaves Goldust and booker sprawled out for the second time tonight to establish that they're mean fellas.

Time of match: 2:06

Winner: Booker T by pinfall

Back from break Goldust and Booker are being hauled off by the referees. Eric taunts them and says Raw is coming to Houston next week and puts them against 3 Minute Warning. Booker says "You are what you eat and I think you're an asshole." King "He can't say that?" JR "He just did." We cut to Bubba Dudley and RVD talking about their match. Rob says he's passionate about facing HHH and Ric. "They took my IC title and my shot at the World Championship. They took everything." He says it doesn't matter if he's hurt, he's got nothing left to lose. Bubba is down with it as we cut to commercial. Back from break, its time for the main event.

Match 7

Bubba Ray Dudley and Rob Van Dam vs World Heavyweight Champion Triple H and "Nature Boy" Ric Flair.

The ECW guys face Hunter and Ric as JR says Rob's got a busted gut from the sledgehammer shot. Bell's gone and referee Earl Hebner tells everyone to clear out. HHH attacks Bubba in the corner but gets reversed in the corner. Bubba hits a backdrop and knocks Flair off the apron. Flair tags in and its been 4 months since Flair worked heel in London against the departed Steve Austin. Flair is wearing black tights with purple boots, so much for coordination. Bubba drops Ric with right hands and goes to tag in RVD to get him some, but Ric retreats to the corner to tag in The Game. HHH rallies with right hands in the corner on Bubba and tags in Flair. Ric chops Bubba in the corner but Bubba counters with chops of his own. Flair flips in the corner then eats a backdrop. Bubba tags in Rob and Rob goes to work with right hands and a spinning heel kick. Rob slugs away at Ric in the corner and shoulderblocks him. He monkey flips Flair and goes upstairs. He hits a dropkick off the top then drops an interfering HHH. He hits rolling thunder on HHH but sells his injuries. Flair gets a thumb to the eye and Triple H drops him with a clothesline. Flair leaves without tagging out and Hunter sets Rob up for a back suplex off the top. Rob knocks him off with an elbow but misses the split legged moonsault.  Rob does an enziguiri as both men make the tag. Bubba drops Flair and knocks HHH off the apron. Bubba backdrops Flair and delivers a samoan drop on HHH. He hits a sidewalk slam on Flair and covers but HHH breaks up the count. Bubba does a double clothesline and does double Dusty punches and a Dusty elbow to both men. Flair is no stranger to that. Bubba clotheslines HHH over the top to the outside and scoop slams Flair. Rob comes off the top with the wazzup leg drop and Rob says to get the tables. Bubba gets a table and throws it inside as Flair begs off. Bubba and Rob set the table up and put Flair on it. Rob goes upstairs but HHH sends him crashing to the barricade. Bubba punches HHH on the apron but Ric delivers a knee to the back. HHH snaps Bubba off the top rope and Flair rolls him up for 1....2...3 to win the match. Big win for Flair as a heel but Bubba gets up quickly to beat up HHH. Flair chopblocks Bubba and throws him outside. HHH throws Rob in the ring and gets the sledgehammer.  Bubba hits a low blow on HHH and heaves Flair over the top. Bubba powerbombs HHH off the side of the table....whoops! Rob saves face by putting HHH on the table and does a top rope legdrop through the table. Good to keep to kayfabe by not hurting his ribs and instead going for the legdrop. Bad match but it does set up the future with Flair and HHH as top heels, something Flair is very familiar with.

Time of match: 7:08

Winners: HHH and Flair by pinfall

We fade to black with HHH laid out and that was a pretty good Raw all things considering. We got two new faces in Randy Orton and The Hurricane and Eric is on the warpath after being humiliated at Unforgiven. We do have new potential opponents for HHH in Big Show and Bubba Ray Dudley as we head for No Mercy....and I wish we stayed on this path. Instead, Vince McMahon called an audible and what we got for No Mercy was 10 times worse than what this Raw was heading toward. But that's a story for another time. As of now we got new top heels, new tag team champions and two new faces. Smackdown's in ring work was second to none and Raw had to respond with characters. Kind of like WWF vs NWA in the 80's, which is what SHOULD have happened a year earlier. We also got Trish on the run from Victoria and Molly Holly and a feud between Tommy Dreamer and Chris Nowinski developing. We got a Smackdown and Velocity taping in two days but no house shows in between, so I'll see yall on Smackdown as they have their fallout show after Unforgiven.
