WWE at DECC Arena (5/24/02)

DECC Arena
Duluth, MN
May 24, 2002

The stars of Raw made their way to Duluth, Minnesota for this special Friday night house show. We've been running the same matches on the circuit as last week so it doesn't look like there will be any change this week. Let's get to the action.

Match 1

Jacqueline vs Crash Holly

The same inter-gender match as last week with the same exact result. Jacqueline wins.

Winner: Jacqueline

Match 2

Tommy Dreamer vs WWE Hardcore Champion Steven Richards

The ECW alumni do battle again for the Hardcore championship. I always said they should have just changed the name of the "Hardcore" title to just the "ECW" title since Vince bought the rights to it from Paul Heyman. Richards takes it with the Stevie Kick.

Winner: Richards by pinfall (still Hardcore champion)

Match 3

Bubba Ray Dudley vs Brock Lesnar

They were building toward a TV match so they put these two together to get some chemistry. Lesnar got the duke.

Winner: Lesnar

Match 4

Matt Hardy vs X-Pac

Ironically Pac and the Hardy's were around 7 years earlier so to see them in 2002 is a bit surreal. Pac gets the win here.

Winner: X-Pac

Match 5

Bradshaw vs Booker T

The nWo's newest member takes on the big rough Bradshaw here. Bradshaw got the victory.

Winner: Bradshaw

Match 6

Justin Credible and Goldust vs Shawn Stasiak and D-Lo Brown

What the hell is this hodge podge? This is the kind of match to open the show with, not this far into it. Either way, D-Lo and Stasiak win.

Winners: D-Lo Brown & Shawn Stasiak

Match 7

Molly Holly vs Trish Stratus for the WWE Women's Championship

Molly vs Trish again since Jackie was busy in the opening match. Trish gets the victory to retain the title.

Winner: Trish Stratus (still Women's Champion)

Match 8

Spike Dudley vs William Regal for the WWE European Championship

This has been a feud for a while and once again Regal wins it to retain.

Winner: Regal (still European champion)

Match 9

Rob Van Dam vs Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

The big feud going on at the time and delivered in the ring almost every single time. Guerrero takes the match to retain.

Winner: Guerrero (still IC Champion)

Another standard house show as we build past Judgment Day and on to King of The Ring. The lack of star power on Raw is a bit of an issue considering its the flag ship show and no Stone Cold on this one, at least in a match anyway. The next show after this is tomorrow's double shot in Canada. The stars of Raw will venture to Winnipeg, Manitoba while Smackdown heads to Saskatchewan. We'll be doing the Raw show first up in Winnipeg, I'll see you there.
