Pensacola Civic Center
Pensacola, FL
November 25, 1988
The second leg of this triple shot was in sunny Florida on this Black Friday. With the top stars in Hartford and Chicago, the mid-carders would have to carry this card in Pesacola. Ted Dibiase would be facing Hillbilly Jim, Scott Casey would replace Blue Blazer to face King Haku and the main event would be Jake Roberts against "Ravishing" Rick Rude. What was wrong with Blazer? The night before Greg Valentine didn't get low enough on Owen Hart's leapfrog and Owen's nutsack took the brunt. He finished the match but woke up the next morning with swollen balls. Sorry Owen. Let's get to the action.
Match 1
Sam Houston vs "Dangerous" Danny Davis
The feud for most of 1988 was coming to an end with the year almost over as well. Houston got the duke this time.
Winner: Houston
Match 2
Scott Casey vs King Haku
This was originally going to be Blue Blazer against Haku but Owen Hart legitimately hurt his balls night before at Survivor Series so its Casey going up against the king here. Haku got the victory.
Winner: Haku
Match 3
The Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) vs The Brainbusters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard)
Its AWA vs NWA in this one with the ex-Midnight Rockers taking on the ex-Horsemen. In a re-match of last night, the Busters won this time.
Winners: The Brainbusters
Match 4
"The Outlaw" Ron Bass vs Brutus Beefcake
Another match from the fallout of the previous night where both these guys were on opposite sides of the Survivor Series. Beefcake won this one.
Winner: Beefcake
Match 5
"Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase vs Hillbilly Jim
Once again we got another match with two guys from opposite Survivor Series teams. There would be no Virgil in this one as he was working up in Hartford. Still, Dibiase got the win anyway.
Winner: Dibiase
Match 6
"Ravishing" Rick Rude vs Jake "The Snake" Roberts
The feud was coming to an end with Jake about the to transition to Andre The Giant and Rude about to face the Ultimate Warrior but here we are again for another main event showdown. Jake takes it with the DDT.
Winner: Jake Roberts by pinfall
With the crew split up for three different shows, this was definitely the lesser of the three. Still, it showed you the depth of the WWF at the time to still put on three house shows and even the JV team can draw a crowd. Too bad about Owen Hart but he'd make his return eventually. The Rude/Roberts feud was running its course but they needed a main event and it was either that or Hillbilly Jim. The next show after this is tonight's house show at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago. I'll see you there.
